The Second Faculty of Medicine, which will take over the baton from the Centre for Language Education of Masaryk University in Brno in 2024, cordially invites you to the 3rd International Conference on Language Teaching at Medical Faculties III, to be held at the new campus of the Second Faculty of Medicine in Motol.
This is a continuation of the two previous editions of the conference, which took place in 2018 and 2021.
This conference is the only event of its kind currently taking place in the Czech Republic that focuses on teaching Language for Specific Purposes, with a focus on medicine.
The conference aims to underpin current professional discussions and trends in language teaching at medical faculties (hereinafter “MF”), inform the professional community about current research issues, share teaching and testing experiences, and present specific didactic practices.
Thematic focus:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its use in language teaching at MF,
- Communicative approach to foreign language teaching at MF (including Czech for foreigners),
- Teaching methodology (all languages taught at MF in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, including Czech/Slovak for foreigners),
- Greek-Latin medical terminology and current trends in its teaching at MF,
- Testing methodology (face-to-face and online),
- Development of teaching materials (including e-learning),
- The organisation of language teaching in individual departments,
- Current issues and challenges in language teaching at MF.
Contributions:
We look forward to your contributions on the above topics in the form of a lecture (20 minutes + 10 minutes discussion) or a workshop (45 minutes).
For the workshop, please indicate the maximum number of participants if your workshop format requires it.
The output of the meeting will be the conference proceedings, which will be published online. The proceedings format requirements can be found HERE.
